Minutes from the June 27 Emergency Membership Meeting

Appropriation of funding for the replacement of Kids Kingdom playground.

Meeting called to order at 9:37 a.m. by Christine Stobart

Discussion is solely related to the appropriation of PTA funds for the replacement of the Kids Kingdom playground at the Hopewell Elementary School. Kids Kingdom is to be torn down within the next two weeks because of excessive splintering and bee swarms. This has been decided by the district.

There is explanation of the Southern Lehigh School Board Meeting that took place on June 26, 2006. Discussion at that meeting concerned the use of the school funds in the amount of $30,000.00 towards a new playground for the children of Hopewell Elementary. The school district was unfavorable of soliciting Olympus Corporation for funds towards a new playground. There is no previous record in place for such solicitations. The school board has set aside $30,000.00 towards a new playground and would like the Hopewell PTA to add towards this amount.

There is a vote on the dispersement of funds to the school district in the amount of $35,000.00 to be used towards the replacement playground:

• All opposed- 0
